EN LEGERE SUSPENSION REMIXES VOLUME 1 (TIM XAVIER / MATHIAS KADEN RMXS)
12 Inch
17.09.07
with labelboss pheeks album >en légère suspension< being loved by many for its eloquent detailing and organic, electronic psychedelia, we are happy to bring you a collection of remixes of select tracks from the album. for the remixing purposes, archipel called two favorites to compile a colourful mix between warm afterhours and peak time music. >aye aya ashawa< gets treated by mathias kaden and molded into an exotic, humid cloud of hypnotic, densely layered quasi-tribal percussion with the original vocal presenting itself in a very visual hypnagogic manner. the excellently driving and hypnotic >orage solaire< gets put through the wringer by tim xavier who highlights the hypnotic nature of the original and darkens the tone a little more into a jittering, pulsing aural storm.

joey returns to his own jackin tracks imprint for a lovely 4 tracker, this time re-releasing two of his classic tracks and showcasing two new ones. for anybody who may have missed it, joeys >sunrise ep< on freaked records uk came out in 2004 and was widely regarded as one of the best records in his discography. the standout was >memories< featured here beautifully remastered on a1. it has since become a house classic, and also a very hard-to-find record. on a2 is >the devils groove<, a twisted cut perfect for those drugged out moments at 5 am in a very dark room. flip for b1s >country life,< nice dancefloor-aimed material with a massive bassline and soulful male vocals, this one was surely inspired by derrick carter and achieves that sound perfectly! and lastly is >45 funk< the full a-side track on the original freaked release - old-school youngman sound, undeniably funky with a wicked keyboard solo thrown in for good measure
it was 1883 when the krakatoa vulcano erupted and generated the loudest sound historically reported. about 120 years later, in 2002, the project krakatoa was born, generated by the underground enthusiasms living in the city of turin, aiming to contemporary electronic sound esploration with a special appeal for clubbing. krakatoa was originally established as a cult underground party based at the beach club in turin, where every thursday more than a thousand youngsters use to meet at the feet of the dj booth where the two founding fathers, dj pisti and samuel, regularly perform. they are often supported by special guests such as josh wink
GOOD IDEA REMIXES
12 Inch
04.09.07
a fresh new three album track remix ep containing mixes by charles webster, the long term deep house maniac who serves to be an incredibly good choice, will saul, label owner of simple and aus, and a final remix by the man himself phonique. the charles webster remix of worked it out starts off as a nice thudding beat with a crisp minimal click on the offbeat, until an echoing vocal sample swifts in and around starting off the soft but pushing shoulder shifting bass line. smooth piping reverbed blows outline an almost euphoric melody, a very trippy and atmospheric tune with soft cymbals pattering away in the background. soothing sounds and housey chords mix perfectly to make a chilled out dreamy beach tune with a nice progressing beat. a swerling bridge with a 90s casio chord melody steps in and then fades out to the echoes of the vocals drifting silently away into the sun. on b1 its the will saul remix of bang. dun, dun, dun, dun, whoosh! - then a descending high minor melody calling with an electric bass response. squeeky bird sounds and weird reverbed chords makes you feel like youre in a crazy dream falling and falling yet the beat keep you stable and composed just about! an out of tune dungeon computer game. strange but true and also very interesting!! and finally, on b2 its the phonique version of space cruise feat. gui borrato. trekking through a spaceship journey tune with mechanical functional sounds releasing here and there. a repetitive two noted melody comes in and fades out, is replaced by an array of spaced out tones, arrivies back again, meets up and resounds into a fanc

following fondations first release - danton eeprom - these eyes/strictly erotics, cheerfully welcomed by djs, radios and press across europe - is the first ep of brwn shoes. this newcomer to the electronic scene played for long the role of observer, in the sweaty basements of london and valencia, before getting to djing and music production with panache, brio and attitude. brwn shoes sound is based on dirty, insistent monosyllabic basslines and superpositions of subtle notes and minimalistic gimmicks, providing moody, stripped-down pieces meant to drive the crowd and its dj corpus mentus. zeugma and tigers dont sleep are two perfect examples of this new breed of sound hes developing. crude, raw and sexy.

yes! format b are finally back with their second release on stil vor talent. after massive tracks on opposum and highgrade rec, their newest ep on stil vor talent is another huge minimal monster. kongo time is typical for the two berliners: a flickery percussive loop with some stretched out effect envelopes over a wobbly drum n bass style bassline place this track between freaky rave and minimal chic. its definitely going to make you trip out for sure! on the flip its the funky mondo time that builds up over some cuts and bleeps until it leads the listener into pure euphoria when the simple loop kicks in. a huge organic subbass and some chopped-up vocal sample add the funk to this delirious minimal hit and when it comes to minute 4:00 you really won t be able to hold your feet still. format b are at the top of their game and we are so happy to have them!
THE LIFE WE CHOOSE PART 2
12 Inch
22.08.07
the 2nd part of the >the life we choose< album series starts with >who you gonna call?< the track is built on a melodic 303 acid line, which, followed by two more 303s, results in a complete acid trip. >the life we choose< is compelling, with its 117 bpm electro-groove, strong bassline combined with a hypnotic acid line, right up to the triumphant string finale. >itz ok (club mix)<: sombre, expressive vocals mixed with acid beats make one thoughtful, despite enjoying the whole package in a >hardfloor will survive< club mix! attention! full album cover comes with part 3!
THE DAWN REMIXES
12 Inch
22.08.07
remixes by woody & dj t.!! dj t.s >the dawn< 1st appeared in may of this year, and it was a 12inch of typical poise, refinement and dancefloor effectiveness from the get physical boss. now its time for the remixes... first up, t. himself tackles >jam pot<. the resulting track is the dancefloor monster that >jam pot< always threatened to be - subtle, intelligent, but unswerving in its intention to rock the floor. for a fresh treatment of >the dawn<, t. hands over the reins to woody, the legendary former resident dj at berlins e-werk and a true architect and soldier of the citys techno underground.the result is undoubtedly psychedelic, but the powerful, minimalist drum patterns and sheer production panache mean this will be a big hit with the feet and hips as much as the mind. this is a remix 12inch you cant afford to miss - two very different productions which will stimulate both cerebrally and physically. the dawn is here!
